But this time, it's for a portrait session with Celina & Richie. We had plenty of discussions on which country to head to, Bali, Cambodia, etc. Finally the decision was to Bangkok & Ayutthaya, due to my familiarity with the place. :P

But as everyone knows, a few weeks back, Tropical Storm Ketsana just that ran through South East Asia. The weather forecasts shows thunder storms daily. Everyone was very worried if we are even able to take any shots. But lo and behold, not a drop of rain when we arrived :) Upon arrival & settling down in our hotels, we did a short session in the Bangkok city center, just before dinner. As per below showcasing the main character, the Bangkok traffic.

Pretty cool graffiti near the Siam BTS station. 

 

This series below are shot in Ayutthaya. We spent the whole day going about the ruins & temples there. The weather was fantastic, and gave me great great shots :)

 

We climbed up a huge temple stairs to get this hot shot :P Check out some of the behind the scenes I posted in facebook.

I think we managed quite a bunch of fantastic shots and are now building the album. Will post details of the album once it's completed :) Oh and it started raining again when we headed back to the airport for our flight back home, and the thunder storms started. 

We had tons of fun with the couple on this shoot & is looking forward to their wedding next year. I can't wait!

I know, I know, we've been back for the past month or so. It's only now we are finally settled in "comfortably". I have managed to setup all my PC, printers, hard disks etc etc.

*note to self  and others* Keep multiple copies of data (more than 2) when moving across countries and hand carrying items. Then backup again before trying funky stuff (e.g. mirrors/RAID)!! SIGH

Anyway here's some shots I have taken during our last week in Bangkok. After 3 years in Bangkok, we haven't visited the most famous temple in Thailand, the Grand Palace!! We were pretty lucky as the "heaven" greeted us with a surprise!! Check it out below.

A very interesting note from the tourist guide. For those who have been to temples in Bangkok, you will see many Chinese carvings/tiles. All these were used as weight/ballast on the ships on their return trip from China to Thailand during trades

And for those who visited us, knows how much fun it is here :P But as all things must come to an end, we are due back in KL next month.

These few days have been busy packing and getting ready to be back in Malaysia. Things I would say have changed quite a bit since we left, both us and the place. It's going to be an interesting time ahead!

We came to Bangkok just 2 of us, and now we leave with an additional 3 in our family, Naomi, Jamie & jub-jub, and a whole bunch of luggage & memories and friends.

Happy Naomi I think Naomi had the most fun here;

jamie Too bad Jamie's too young to know much!

sigh We will miss our lives here in Bangkok, and bid her farewell, but we will be BACK! :)

Peppe is a very cute & cuddly 2+ year old boy, but he had some initial phobia over my cameras, and refused to take any photos. (Okay, okay, I agree my cams are not as small as I say the are :P ) But after some coaxing and some familiarization with my camera, click more for the results of the shoot.
